Abstract: Information transmission of human brain cortex(ITC) is computed using the electroencephalogram time series such that comparison can be made for the ITC of acute hypoxia¡¢deep sleep and normal subjects and partial epileptic patients. Observations show that all ITCs between every lead under acute hypoxia are higher than those of normal subjects. But all ITCs between every lead in deep sleep subjects are lower than that of normal. The ITCs are obviously higher between the epileptic lead(s) and the others for partial epileptic patients. On the contrary, they are relative lower between non-epileptic leads. The method has the potential to study the electroencephalogram time series in different physiological states, providing a new way to study the function of human brain.
