Voxel-Based 3D Modeling for Rapid Prototyping Manufacturing

Abstract: Rapid prototyping using advanced technology benefits manufacturing.Although layered manufacturing techniques have revolutionized the prototyping of complex geometric designs, the use of traditional CAD software still prevails. A new Voxel-based approach to geometric modeling is proposed while efficient algorithm is developed to obtain new solutions.A new geometric model with linear octtree is discussed. Encoding,decoding and operational methods are proposed.
