
Two-Fluid Model for Quench Chamber of Coal Gasifier

Abstract: A two-fluid model is used to simulate the flow and heat
transfer of vertical pipe in quench chamber. Calculated are the synthetic gas, ash heat
transfer and flow in vertical pipe of coal gasifier. The influence of different ash
concentration of coal shows that the cooling of synthetic gas is affected by the ash
concentration. The gas temperature can be improved by increasing the ash concentration
while low ash concentration coal is more suitable for coal gasifier.
