Heat Recovery for Energy Integration of Batch Processes

Abstract: An energy integration method is developed for batch processes after analyzing the characteristics of previous system integration. This is an improvement of the Kemp cascade analysis. Time temperature cascade analysis and a heuristic approach are applied to design batch process energy integration. Determined are the heat storage frequency and heat rejecting time intervals. The energy degradation of heat storage is considered such that energy requirement can satisfy the practical engineering demands.
