
Optimization of Stable Adaptive Fuzzy Controller
Based on Genetic Algorithms

Abstract: An adaptive fuzzy controller is developed for continuous-time
nonlinear systems with high order by using fuzzy dynamic model. The control law for the
overall system is based on selection of the state feedback control law of the dominant
local linear model through fuzzy inference . A sufficient condition for stability of the
closed-loop fuzzy system is derived from the concept of connective stability in
decentralized control of¡¡large-scale systems. Under this condition,an optimal fuzzy
controller is designed by using genetic algorithms. The validity of the design method is
proved by a simulation example.
