Model for Multimedia Distance Learning System over IP Network

Abstract: A 5-tuples (T, P, R, E, M) of the multimedia distance learning system is presented. Here, T refers to teacher, P topupils, R to the resources and teaching materials of distance learning, E to the cooperative learning environment over IP network and M to the strategies and rules related to the distance learning. Moreover, a general frame of distance learning over IP network is also provided. Finally, an implementation model of distance learning based on Web is designed and verified on the campus Intranet. In this system, pupils can view the lecture sections in real-time or review the record on demand. Experiment has shown that this model and its implementation are feasible.
