Reliability Evaluation of Complicated Distribution Systems

Abstract: A reliability evaluation method is proposed for complicated distribution systems based on the minimal path method and the equivalent approach. First, some equivalent elements are used to replace some portions of the distribution network and thus a complex system is decomposed into a series of simple ones. Then, the reliability indices are calculated using the minimal path method. The validity of the method is examined by numerical examples.
