Abstract: A method is proposed for designing the discharge port of
scroll fluid machinery. Circular-shaped and kidney-shaped discharge ports are considered.
Determined are the regulatory working area and modified angle. Throttling effect, pressure
regulation, and work loss are discussed for analyzing the characteristics of a discharge
process.
