Transmission Section Economic Available Transfer Capability with Security Constraints

Abstract£ºThe key transmission section interrelated to overload branch is obtained
according to realª²time information of networks topology and load flow. Considering the
active power flow across the key transmission section and the rationality of crossª²sectional
power flow control, transmission section economic transmission capacity is put forward.
Based on economic equivalent, a corresponding algorithm combining with Monte Carlo
simulation and linear programming is proposed to evaluate the transmission section
economic available transfer capability (TSEATC), where the uncertainties in power system
are taken into account. By analyzing the expected value and the probabilistic distribution
of available transfer capability (ATC), the bottleneck information is also obtained to
indicate the system weakness. Finally, the rationality of the model and the feasibility of
the developed algorithm are verified with the modified IEEE 32ª²machine 24ª²node power
system as an illustrative one.
