Abstract: Copper-indium co-doped zinc seleno-sulphide semiconductor photocatalyst was synthesized by chemical co-precipitation. The compound was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, ultraviolet visible diffuse reflectance spectrum, nitrogen sorption analysis,X-ray fluorescence analysis and thermogravimetric analysis. Its performance of photocatalytic hydrogen production from water was also studied. The results show that 2% copper-indium co-doped catalyst, whose edge of light absorption is red-shifted to 700 nm, has the best light absorption performance and the highest hydrogen evolution efficiency with a quantum yield of 4.83% under ultraviolet light irradiation. In addition, the photocatalyst is stable under ultraviolet light irradiation and the hydrogen evolution performance does not decrease after 100h photoreaction.
