Formation-Decomposition Outside of a Heat Transfer Tube Xie Yingming1,Liang Deqing2,Guo Kaihua2,Fan Shuanshi2,Gu Jianming1,Huang Duzi2,Li Mingchuan2 (1.Institute of Refrigeration and Cryogenics,Shanghai Jiaotong University,Shanghai 200030,China;2.Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion,The Chinese Academy of Sciences,Guangzhou 510640,China) Abstract:In order to investigate if tetrahydrofuran hydrate is suitable to be used as a cool storage medium in indirect-contact heat transfer cool storage system, the kinetics of tetrahydrofuran hydrate formation-decomposition outside of a heat transfer tube was studied, and compared with those of ice formation-decomposition process. The research results showed that stoichiometic tetrahydrofuran water solution (19£¥) has a similar super cooling degree and induction time to those of ice formation when cooled by coolant flowing from up to down in a vertically placed reactor.Since the coolant temperature can be above 0¡æ,the refrigeration efficiency will be improved comparing with ice.Kinetics of tetrahydrofuran water solution with concentration higher or lower than 19£¥ would deteriorate the cool storage process.
