Abstract:The effects of dimethyl ether £¨DME£© homogeneous charge compression ignition £¨HCCI£© engine compression ratio on its power and economy were studied experimentally with a TY1100 single cylinder engine£® The results show that the best operating region of HCCI engine is related to the engine load£¬speed£¬and the mixture excess air ratio£® Under the compression ratio of 8,10.7 and 14,HCCI engine can work stably. However, the working region is narrow at 8,and the power and thermal efficiency are lower at 14£® There is a better fuel economy and wider operating region when this HCCI engine utilizes a compression ratio of 10.7.It can be concluded from the experiments that higher HCCI engine load can be achieved by the increase of engine speed£®
