Abstract:For measuring thermal conductivity of liquids, a transient single hotª²wire apparatus was developed. With this new apparatus, the thermal conductivity of the mixture of diesel oil with dimethyl carbonate was measured at temperatures from 285 to 375 K. The mass fractions were 95:5, 90:10, and 85:15, respectively. The equations of thermal conductivity for the diesel oil and the mixtures were correlated. The maximum deviation between calculated values and experimental data was less than ¡À0.9 £¥, and the relative maximum expanded uncertainty of the experimental data was 2.0 £¥
when the coverage factor k is 2 This work provides the thermal conductivity data for the research on the clean alternative fuel.
