Abstract:A new method was developed to measure the wall charge in AC plasma display panel(AC PDP) under arbitrary driving waveform. In the method, two groups of display electrodes were selected and two capacitors were connected with these two groups of display electrodes in series respectively,and thus a measurement circuit and a reference circuit were constructed.With the help of special processing,the discharge can take place in the cells included in the measurement circuit under normal drive voltage and the discharge can not take place in the cells included in the reference circuit under normal drive voltage.The wall charge can be obtained from the voltage difference between the two capacitors.Using the method,the wall charge waveforms during reset period, address period and sustain period for the three-electrode coplanar AC PDP were obtained simultaneously.The experimental results show that this method is very simple and efficient.
