Abstract:The graph theory was applied to study connections between parts and subassemblies.Two kinds of subassemblies were proposed and their definitions were given.Based on the adjacent matrix,interference matrix, and the definitions of subassemblies,a method for generating subassemblies was presented by using the graph theory.The adjacent and interference matrix can be created with the aid of product digital mock-up,and then the subassemblies can be generated automatically in CAD system using the method presented in this paper and therefore the correctness and efficiency of subassembly generation can be improved.
