Abstract:The highly pure aciculate nanocrystalline Mg,Al-hydrotalcite samples were prepared by the one-step liquid reaction method at atmospheric pressure. And the crystallization optimization of nanocrystalline Mg,Al-hydrotalcite was investigated. Moreover, the technological facts which can optimize the crystallization of the nanocrystalline Mg,Al-hydrotalcite are proposed as follows: ¢Ù The closer the mol ratio of magnesium to aluminum to 3:1, the orderer the distribution of the carbonic acid radical and water molecule in the middle layer £ÛCO
32-, 4H2O£Ýof the Mg,Al-hydrotalcite;¢Ú the proper sodium carbonate concentration is benenfited both to the order of the distribution of the carbonic acid radical and water molecule in the middle layer and to the distribution of magnesium ions and aluminum ions in the basic layer£ÛMg6Al2(OH)16]2+of the Mg,Al-hydrotalcite;¢Û the longer the reaction time, the bigger the Mg,Al-hydrotalcite crystal, the higher the beginning decomposition temperature point and the more the residual oxides (MgO and Al2O3) during the the Mg, Al-hydrotalcite thermal decomposition.
