Abstract:The surface electron binding energy of Cuª²Li alloys was detected by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The distribution of electrons near Feimi face was analyzed by synchronous radiation instrument. The result shows that the addition of trace lithium to copper affects the valence electron of copper and decreases the electron density of Feimi face, such that the electric conductivity of copper decreases. But lithium can purify the oxygen, sulfur and other impurities, the electric conductivity decreased gradually with lithium content increasing. This is because lithium dissolving in copper lattice leads to the deformation of copper lattice, meanwhile increases the binding energy of surface electrons, and thus decreases the electric conductivity.
