New Model of Switches Taking Account of Switching Interval and Its Application

Abstract:A new switch model, in which closing of the switch is modeled by the voltage source and opening is modeled by the current source, is proposed. The switch resistance may be zero when ON and infinity when OFF. Adopted the model, the switched networks can be analyzed in timedomain with nodal approach and the case of inconsistent initial conditions resulted from the ideal switch model can be avoided. Compared with the model described by ON and OFFresistance, the newly presented one facilitates programming and shortens the simulation time.
