Jets Injected Obliquely into a Crossflow Guo Tingting1,Xu Zhong1,Li Shaohua2 (1.School of Energy and Power Engineering,Xi'an Jiaotong University,Xi'an ¡¡710049, China;2.Department of Thermal Power Engineering,Northeast China Institute of Electric Power Engineering,JiLin 132012,China) Abstract:Experimental investigations were performed to investigate the characteristics of the turbulent jet issuing into a uniform crossflow,at the injection angles of 90¡ãand 60¡ã. The experiments were conducted by IFA 300 anemometry and the flow fields were measured, and the mean and turbulent statistics were obtained at jet-crossflow velocity ratio R equaling 2 and 4. The jet trajectory was defined as the line linked by points of the maximal velocity in the centreplane, and the contours were given in different conditions. The results show that the injection angle and jetª²crossflow velocity ratio can change the flow characteristics. The acute action between the jet and crossflow occurs mostly in the zone where the jet bends and the jet develops paralleling with the crossflow in the end, There are separate events in the lee of the jet injected normally, but these events are not obvious when the jet injection angle equals to 60¡ã. The initial momentum of the jet is larger and the jet can change crossflow more under the condition of R equaling 4. The range affected by jet decreases when the injection angle is 60¡ã.
