| Framework for Product Family
Design and Research on Its Key Technologies Zhu Bin£¬Jiang Pingyu (School of Mechanical Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an 710049, China) Abstract:A framework for product family design£¬which could support the idea of mass customization,was proposed by analyzing typical product development process and comparing design of product families with that of a single product. Moreover£¬some key technologies£¬such as representation of requirement and clustering,representation of function space and its mapping with space of requirement,representation of a product line structure and its mapping with function space£¬were studied by corresponding analytical methods including clustering analysis,structure tree£¬function technique matrix,and product function matrix.This framework provides a systematic analysis method for market positioning of product family£¬increasing reusability£¬ planning the platform of product family£¬and theoretical guidance for manufacturers who plan to implement strategy of product family design.
