Two-Dimensional Fluid Simualtion of Addressing and Sustaining
Discharge in Alternating Current Plasma Display Panel

Abstract:A twodimensional fluid model of the cell discharge in an alternating current plasma display panel(ACPDP) is developed to analyze the transient discharge properties of a gas mixture of Ne +5%Xe. The time of simulation includes the addressing and a sustaining discharge pulses. The time evolution of charged particle densities and wall charges in space are obtained. The wall voltage between scanning electrode and sustaining electrode is about 150V after addressing discharge. A pulse of -170V between the electrodes can maintain the discharge.
