Abstract:Two-phase turbulent model of Bingham fluid and particles is
presented according to dense liquid-solid two-phase turbulent equations and power law
fluid constitutive equation. Computer program is developed, which provides theoretical
basis for numerical computation. With inter phase slip algorithm revised(IPSAR),
numerical computation is performed for two-phase turbulent flow of Bingham fluid and
particles in pipe. The results show that the velocity distribution of particle phase is
flat, and higher near wall than the velocity of power law fluid, that the mainstream
velocity of both phases increases along with increase of flow index, that the turbulent
kinetic energy of power law fluid has a tendency to increase, and that the particle volume
fraction appears a tendency to reduce. So yield stress has an important influence on
turbulent flow.
