Experimental Study on the Thermosiphon Solution Elevation Tubes with Narrow Slot Channel in Absorption Chiller

Abstract:Several thermosiphon solution elevation tubes with narrow slot channel are specially designed and constructed. The heating and elevating solution performances of the tubes are measured. The experimental results indicate that the narrow slot channel tubes have the outstanding characteritstics, such as the low starting temperature (minmum 68 degrees), wide operation temperature range (68~90 degrees) and low vacuum requirement (under 10 kPa). Under the conditions of the suitable section area of the tubes, the elevating solution volume and distilled water yield increase with the operation temperature. Other factors having influences on the elevating solution performance of the tubes are also analyzed and discussed.
