Experiment and Mechanism Study on the Effect of Liquid Cavitation of Boiling Heat Transfer

Abstract: The relation between liquid cavitation and ebullition has been narrated in view of each inherent mechanism. Enhancement mechanism of boiling heat transfer with liquid cavitation has been revealed. The effect of acoustic cavitation on boiling heat transfer of horizontal circular tube is well explained. The results show that cavitation and ebullience are two diferent processes from the point of rupturing liquid, and that the incipient radius of cavitation nucleus must be less than mi-crometer magnitude under the standard state, and that whether boiling heat transfer is enhanced by acoustic cavitation relies directly on whether the activation bubble embryoes are provided to boiling surface by the cavitation bubbles.
