Abstract: Oilcen-water two-phase flows in vertical pipes were
investigated theoretically and experimentally. The drift flux model was improved to analyze
the experimental data. A few key parameters were determined with curve-fitting method ,and
a new model was obtained based on the experimental data. It was found that the slippage
between water phase and oil phase was influenced by water cut and the flow rate of
oil-water mixture, and the influence was more serious under lower water cut and lower flow
rate. The proposed model was validated by our data and the others ,and shows that the
performance of new model was better than others published in the literature.
