Abstract: In order to overcome the shortcoming that conventional stretched-out
code needs more subfields to remove the dynamic false contour (DFC)of motion image in
color plasma display panel (PDP), a new method is proposed to optimize the stretched-out
code by adding fine-adjusting code to its end and by using error diffusion to optimize and
reduce the subfields.Simulation results show that optimized stretched-out codes can
greatly improve display quality of motion image in color PDP. Correlation coefficient
between motion image and static image is 0.8972.
