Abstract: Based on dynamic simulation of refrigeration systems,
membership functions used in the fuzzy control of superheat in evaporator are optimized
using genetic algorithms. A scheme has been given for optimization of triangle membership
functions. All the simulation and optimization processes have been implemented with the
software MATLAB. Qualities of the optimized fuzzy control and PI control have been
compared by experimental results. The fuzzy control makes the overshoot of superheat less
and the opration of valve smoother than that of PI control.
