Research Progress in Mechanical Properties of Bulk Amorphous Alloys

Abstract: The current progress is reviewed in the investigation into mechanical properties of bulk amorphous alloys.The characteristics of compositions and structures are introduced,especially improved mechanical properties of the new bulk amorphous alloys compared with the conventional crystalline alloys with the same compositions,for instance,higher elastic specific work,higher tensile strength,higher compressive strength,higher bending flexural strength,higher Charpy impact fracture toughness and higher bending fatigue strength.And potential applications of the bulk amorphous alloys are also discussed.
